Abstract

The development of new technologies in recent decades has significantly transformed the way people communicate, share information, and participate in social processes. Social media has become one of the most influential outcomes of digital transformation, allowing users to create and share content in real time, express opinions, and build global networks. This paper explores the relationship between new technologies and social media, as well as their impact on modern society. Special attention is given to changes in communication patterns, the rise of digital dependency, privacy concerns, and the spread of misinformation. The paper also highlights the positive aspects of these platforms, including faster access to information, knowledge sharing, social activism, and the growth of the digital economy. The main goal is to emphasize that new technologies and social media, while offering numerous advantages, require responsible use and the development of digital literacy to ensure that their potential is harnessed in a constructive and ethical manner.
