Abstract

One of the key issues of teaching, especially within a didactically correct framework, is focused on the functioning of school kitchens, and relates to the acquisition of the necessary knowledge about nutrition and the creation of eating habits. The growing trend of obesity among young populations is alarming, which is not only in physical (in)activity, but also has its sources in eating habits, primarily in highly processed food, i.e. a significant intake of carbohydrates. The paper points to the policies that are present in terms of accepting a healthy diet, which arise from the need to approach the culture of eating unrefined products, which are in antagonism with the offer of school kitchens, and points to the need for teaching focused on action in school kitchens, which should be organized within a didactically correct framework. In addition to the above, the paper also wants to point to the need for planning and reflective practice.
