When we talk about the green transition, we can freely say that its significance and role are extremely important. Its ultimate goal is to bring Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the entire planet, to a green economy in the shortest possible time. In this paper, special attention will be devoted to the importance and role of the green transition, the adoption of the global development framework established in 2015 in New York, known as the 2030 Agenda, and the importance of the European Green Deal. Our focus is particularly directed toward the significance and role of the green transition in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its impact on Bosnian and Herzegovinian companies. By observing and analyzing companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it can be noticed that the green transition is being implemented, but not to the extent we would like. Through the green transition, greater investments should be provided in research and development to accelerate the shift toward a green economy. Therefore, it is necessary to dedicate more attention to financial investments in innovations that would create good business opportunities for both companies and citizens. In this way, in the foreseeable future, Bosnia and Herzegovina could, if not fully join the developed countries on the path through the green transition toward a green economy, then at least catch the last wagon of the green transition train leading to a sustainable green economy.
