Abstract

The paper analyzes the role, representation, and impact of educational systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process of building a green economy, protecting the environment, responding to climate change, and implementing a sustainable transition in line with European integration processes. Special emphasis is placed on the (non)existence of different educational policies, curricula, and institutional (non)cooperation in the field of education and the promotion of environmental protection and climate change awareness. Through an analysis of strategic documents, the legislative framework, and practical initiatives, the paper examines the extent to which the educational system(s) in Bosnia and Herzegovina support(s) the objectives of the European Green Deal and adaptation to the European legislative framework on climate and energy. The results indicate fragmented educational policies, a lack of an integrated approach, and the need to strengthen cross-sectoral cooperation among all levels of education, environment, and energy.
