The green economy and the concept of sustainable transition have become key frameworks for understanding economic development in developing countries, where the challenges of environmental degradation, climate change, and socioeconomic inequalities are deeply interconnected. In this context, data collection and analysis serve as the foundation for informed decision-making and the creation of effective policies. This paper focuses on methodological approaches to the collection and analysis of primary and secondary data used in research on the green economy and sustainable transition. Special emphasis is placed on identifying reliable data sources, addressing challenges in data availability, and highlighting the importance of combining quantitative and qualitative methods. Through the analysis of existing research and examples of good practice, the paper points to the need for an integrated approach that brings together economic, social, and environmental indicators. The research results suggest that the quality and relevance of collected data directly affect the validity of conclusions and the formulation of sustainable development strategies. In conclusion, the paper emphasizes the importance of building institutional capacities and improving data collection methodologies to enable developing countries to
plan and monitor their green and sustainable transition more effectively.
