Abstract

The occurrence of turbidity in drinking water sources is a consequence of intensive erosion processes that occur in the watershed area of the source. Erosion processes are caused by heavy rains that occur more frequently as a result of the current climate changes. This paper, based on the measurements conducted, analyzes the impact of raw water turbidity on the operation of the Sokolina filter station in Ilijaš, as well as the efficiency of turbidity removal by the coagulation and filtration process in rapid pressure filters. The paper describes the process of preparing drinking water, and provides the results of the measurements conducted to determine the efficiency of the coagulation and filtration processes, and then analyzes the results obtained and makes appropriate conclusions and recommendations.
