Abstract

Through a detailed elaboration, this scientific study will explain why investing in employee education in tourism is essential, as well as present a model of employee training through the establishment of partnerships with other tourist destinations. It will also introduce a concept and model based on the principle of reciprocity, involving the exchange of employees for the
purpose of rest and education. The emphasis is placed on the off-season period in which a specific tourist destination is identified. The ultimate goal, based on the Kaizen business ideology, is to improve one’s own tourist offer during the off-season through small, continuous steps, by adopting positive practices from other destinations while maintaining constant
investment in employee education. The entire conceptual model will be analyzed through a survey conducted exclusively among workers and owners operating in the tourism sector. The research aims to provide a realistic picture and assess the readiness of employers and employees in the tourism industry to embrace such a business concept. The assumption is that implementing this model would result in an improved tourist offer, higher employee satisfaction and quality, and consequently, the strengthening of the tourist destination as a whole.
